Condition/Details: Bound in gray decorated cloth, this antique volume is a scarce copy of the first novel by the Irish-born poet and novelist. The book is based upon his experiences as a convict in Australia where he had been shipped from Ireland upon conviction for his part in the "Fenian Conspiracy". He was sentenced to 20 years but escaped to the U.S. after serving 4 years. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean, age-toned pages. The book measures approximately 7.5" x 5" and contains 315 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
