Condition/Details: Bound in quarter cloth with bright gilt embossing, this volume is a scarce signed copy of the English author's fourth novel, winner of the 1984 Booker Prize for Fiction. "Edith Hope is in disgrace. A successful novelist, mature and capable, she has made a fool of herself over love. her horrified friends have packed her off to a proper Swiss hotel to come to her senses - but the Hotel du Lac proves no refuge from love or folly" (From dustjacket). Author's signature appears on front endpaper. The volume is in fine condition, and is solidly bound with clean, bright pages. Dustjacket is in glassine cover. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. The book measures approximately 5.75" x 8.5" and contains 184 pages.
