The texts presented here were written over a period of twelve years (1931 - 1943) and address both literary and socio-political concerns. The front endpaper bears the following dedication to American writer and art critic Selden Rodman: "Pags 15 - 17 y 29 - 33/ He aqui el libro/ofrecido, (illegible word) fino/ amigo Selden/ Rodman, donde/ senalo los puntos/ azteca -virgilianos/Afectuosamente,/Alfonso Reyes." The volume shows external age/wear, with rippling to covers and textblock, and water stains to extremities. The book is solidly bound with clean, bright pages ( a number uncut) and measures approximately 5.5" x 8.5" and contains 230 pages.
