Japanese papier mache plate painted on ebonized background, it has a central court scene of musical amusement, the rim with four soldiers all in gold and ivory tones, together with a letter holder, also papier mache and ebonized, the front with a pastoral scene of aristocratic ladies and a cat above a garden scene with a dog barking at birds, good condition, plate 11 1/4" w, letter holder 11 3/4" w x 4" d x 16" t.
