BLACKAMOOR. Venetian figure of a Blackamoor, gessoed, painted and gilded, the man stands on the back of a gondola and holds an oar, he is dressed in sumptuous clothes hand painted with parcel gilt, black scrolls and leaf patterns, his head is wrapped in a blue scarf, all supported on a columnar base with painted florals and paw feet, 19th. century, good condition, part of one arm missing, minor losses to paint and gesso, 10 1/4" w x 8 1/2" d x 37 1/2" t.
