Doman was a beautician by trade when she began painting relatives and friends from old photographs. The scenes focus on Kentucky during the depression. Doman was catapulted onto the art scene when Connie Chung aired a story on the artist during "Face to Face." Now Doman's work can be found in the Whitney Museum in NY and in prominent collections around the world.
