Rare Rookwood Yellow Tinted Porcelain vase with three rather sinister fish on a black ground, the work of Kataro Shirayamadani in 1925. Seaweed in rose and gold tones grow up from the bottom. The interior is lined in the rich maroon porcelain glaze we only see used by Shirayamadani. Marks include the company logo and date, shape number 827 and the incised cypher of the artist. Height 11 1/8 inches. Uncrazed with a couple of very minor scratches.
