KWAKWAKA'WAKW CARVED SPIRIT MASK, "Pugmis", of the northwest coast, by Henry Hunt (Ft. Rupert, B.C. 1923-1985). Red cedar, horsehair, with red and black pigments. 9 in. tall, 8 in. wide, signed in pencil Henry Hunt and carved with monogram H H, dated 1983. N.B. "Pugmis" is the parallel to the "bakwas", wild man. All spirit mask Lots from Robert Beeman Smith estate.
