Lady of the Lake needlework, finely embroidered scene from Sir Walter Scott's 1810 poem, silk, chenille, paint and ink on silk, four verse lines and name "H. Hasb..." inscribed on églomisé mat, American, possibly Philadelphia, early 19th century, 18 x 25 in. (sight); probably original glass and gilt wood frame. Very good condition, slight fading, scattered light stains in sky, added foam core backing, wear to gilt on glass and frame, some repainting to frame. Provenance: Private Collection, Waynesville, North Carolina
