American Chippendale desk/bookcase, cherry with pine secondary, dovetailed two-case construction, upper case with swan's neck pediment and turned finials above two glazed doors with adjustable shelved interior, lower case with fitted desk interior over four graduated drawers, original brasses and ogee bracket feet, fall board and drawer fronts with traces of early dark stain, probably Connecticut River Valley, late 18th century, 84 x 39 x 20-1/2 in. Old refinishing, brass probably original (no plugged holes), original feet with some repairs, rear side facings cracked and one pieced, mid molding replaced, other wear, minor restorations.
