Havell edition Audubon print (John James Audubon, American, 1785-1851), [Long Billed Curlew] with Castle Pinckney and the city of Charleston in background, plate CCXXXI, signed lower left in plate "J.J Audubon", hand colored engraving on wove paper, "Turkey Mill 1834" watermark visible lower right, 26-1/8 x 39-1/4 in.; carved wood and gilt composition frame. Hinged in at top, binding holes present at top, remnant of white (archival tape?) verso left, right and top edges, soft printing crease left margin, faint impression at text "City of…", handling grime, light foxing, toning and fading; frame with abrasions. Provenance: Taylor Clark, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, purchased 1976 Reserve: $30,000
