Chippendale rocking ship tall case clock, walnut and fuitwood case with broken arch pediment and brass finials, arched painted dial with rocking ship over arabic chapter ring with painted spandrels, original steel hands, period pendulum weights and key present, British, late 18th century, 90-3/4 x 23-1/4 x 11-1/2 in. Dial restored with extensive overpaint and retouch, foot facings and skirt probably replaced, case refinished scattered pest damage, center finial possibly replaced, other scattered cracks, molding repairs and flaws. Provenance: Birlant's Antiques, Charleston, South Carolina, 1963; said to have come from Aiken, South Carolina Estate
