Tennessee dish-top candle stand, walnut throughout with dished top tilting above boldly turned baluster on tripod base, finely formed slipper feet, American, probably Tennessee or North Carolina, 29-3/4 x 18-3/4 x 18-1/2 in. Old refinishing, minor break and glue repair to wooden hinge, some glue repairs at joint of legs to pedestal, pedestal base is laminated (as made?), top appears to be original (not removed). Stands with related turnings are illustrated in Young, [Art and Furniture of East Tennessee], pages 44 and 45.
