Very fine Virginia Federal chest, figured mahogany with yellow pine secondary throughout, serpentine top over four graduated dovetailed drawers, original skirt and French feet, attributed to Norfolk, Virginia, early 19th century, 40-1/2 x 43-1/4 x 23-1/2 in. Excellent condition overall with old refinishing, brasses replaced, original feet and some blocking with minor patches to facings, other scattered minor veneer repairs, scattered veneer patches and cracks to top, other minor repairs, backboards renailed.
