Two Japanese satsuma vases: one with very fine polychrome and gilt decoration of a festival procession with Ebisu, god of good fortune, carrying a red sea bream, shoulder with flying white cranes, floral cartouches, foot with white prunus blossoms, base with five iron red characters, remnants of paper label, 3-5/8 in., [wear to gilt on rim, otherwise excellent condition;] one with coastal scene of birds perched in magnolia, bridge crossing inlet to buildings, shoulder with checkerboard inlay at leaves, flowers on gilt scrolling vine ground, 3-1/2 in., [very minor rim chip, minor wear and loss to glaze and gilt,] late 19th/early 20th century.
