Chinese red lacquer and gilt screen, eight panels, border of confronting dragons with pearls, scene of pavilions on islands linked by bridges, figures in buildings, traversing bridges, in boats, verso with birds and flowering plants, 19th century, each panel 83-1/4 x 21-1/2 in., total length 172 in. Lacking hinges, five caps to feet, pest damage with some loss of wood on four panels (screen has been fumigated), surface cracks, area of retouch, surface wear and loss.
