Gilt decorated [Shamshis] (sword), curved single-edged blade finely watered on both sides, gilt inscription cartouches, steel guard with gilt highlights, curved ivory grips, Persia, 17th or 18th century, 39-1/2 in. Separations and losses to grips, gilt decoration worn, scattered rust, lacking scabbard. Provenance: Said to be from the George Eastman collection
