Rare Young compass with telescope, pre 1840, single vernier, two fluid levels, silvered face marked "W.J. Young, Maker, Patent Philadelphia", 10 in. telescope, 5 in. needle, height 9 in., dovetailed walnut case, 10-3/4 x 11-1/4 x 8-1/4 in., sun shade, with tripod, No stadia hairs visible, small solder repair at base of compass; case with normal wear, no strap.
