DESCRIPTION: Four different examples of 19th century English transferware children's mugs. All four are of cylindrical form with applied handles. None are marked. The decoration on the first shows a father and daughter seated and the word "ATTENTION." The second depicts children at play with "A.B.C." The third has the letters "C" and "D" of the alphabet with appropriate animals surrounding them. The fourth depicting a floral wreath with the phrase "TOKEN OF AFFECTION" inside. MEASUREMENT: All approximately 2-3/4" x 2." CONDITION: Light wear and glaze crazing to all. Transferware roll-on for the "C" and "D" mug slipped slightly when manufactured.
