Description: Includes: Collotype photograph of a pyramid in Egypt, dated 1914 in the plate, with pencil inscription from Hall on the reverse dated Dec. 25, 1917. 6½x4½ on sheet 9¾x7¾. (A bit soiled, 1½" marginal tear.) * Gelatin silver photograph of an object being carried from the Tomb of Tutankhamen, inscribed in pencil on the reverse, with Hall's rubberstamp. 9½x7½. (Slight 2" crease at left portion.) Together, 2 items.Photographic images by the architect, surveyor, draftsman, and copyist who did most of the drawings and photographs during the excavation of King Tut's Tomb. The collotype, from a work produced prior to the great discovery, is simply inscribed on the verso, "Christmas Greetings to Genevieve from Lindsley, Dec. 15, 1917." This inscription on the back of the photograph goes into detail about the scene: "Valley of the Kings. Crowd at the Tomb of Tutahnkamen. Carter (with Lady Evelyn Herbert) following a couch animal on its way to the storeroom Tomb of Seti II. Entrance to Tomb of Rameses VI shown under Guards' Huts."
