Thomas Edison Corresponds with His Employee THOMAS A. EDISON, American Inventor and Manufacturer. This is a handwritten note from Thomas A. Edison to George W. Perry, an employee of Edison's in Orange, New Jersey in 1922, written at the bottom of a typed memo. February 5, 1923, Autograph Note Signed "Edison," at the bottom of an internal typed memo from "H.A.A.," who asks Edison to instruct Perry to send reports on the Powder Blank Mucker-Chem. Room directly to him. Edison writes in pencil: "Perry Please do this. Edison." This letter was part of an archive in the possession of the Perry family since the 1920s. The correspondence is unique--reflecting the inventor's relationship with one of his employees, who ultimately resigned in 1923 to take a job managing W.T. Grant department stores. Ex: EAHA Auction, October 5, 2002, Lot 45, where it was part of a collection of 8 letters which sold for $5,750. ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
