Civil War Union Envelopes
Postally Used Civil War and Military Covers c. 1865, Bright and Bold Patriotic Covers Collection, Lot of 4, each Postally Used, Choice Very Fine+. Each cover measures approximately 3" x 5.25", and feature slogans or patriotic imagery printed in red and blue. Each cover is postmarked, with three-cent stamps, sent to Michigan, Maine and Ohio. The listed slogans include: "Union and Constitution- The Star Spangled Banner. The Flag We Fight Under," "North South East West," "God Breed The Right" and "E Pluribus Unum." The envelope with "God Breed the Right" is quite elaborate in design. There are 34 red stars along the edge with state abbreviations in each. In addition is an enormous image of eagle and shield. The remaining covers feature Lady Liberty and a starburst with shield. All of the envelopes are in very fine condition and are beautiful specimens.
