Colonial Lottery Desirable 1866 Washington, D.C. Lottery Ticket
August 2, 1866, Grover's Theatere, Washington, D.C., Ticket for Benefit of the Soldiers' Orphan Fund, Choice Crisp Uncirculated. The first example of this Post-Civil War ticket we have seen or handled. The text is tinted with a green "1866". This is a great theme and the ticket cost $1.00. The back with circular back ink stamped "SOLDIERS & SAILORS UNION." Very desirable and high grade.
