This original World War One poster is part of a large collection we are selling during this auction. The posters in this group have been carefully stored for the past century and form an impressive, unique collection. The first extends her arm as if welcoming the soldier, whose uniform is thrown over her shoulders, the second, seated before a red cross, adopts a pose not unlike that of the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Jesus.
