Publisher: Hachette Printing Year: 1969 Accompanied by signed letter by Teilhard de Chardin addressed to colleague Condition/Details: Bound in green cloth with black and gilt decorations , this volume in the French language is a collection of essays on the life and work of the French philosopher and Jesuit priest. The work is illustrated with many photographs. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. Laid-in letter, written on the stationery of Church of St. Ignatius Loyola (Park Avenue, NY), reads as follows: " Cher ami, / Ravi de vous voir arriver ici! / Suis au 4e Roome 14.-B Mais ne / rentrerai que a 10h p.m. / Vous verrai demain matin. Si par hasard / vous etes libre, gardez-moi la soiree (de demain di- / manche: 7 - 9 p. m.) / Ce cher Jouve (?) est mort dimance der- / nier. Resu hier un mot d. Russo. / Yours un X. / Teilhard". No year is provided but "Samedi 25" is written in the top right-hand corner. The name P. S. Breuvery is written on the back, with the annotation in pencil "about (illegible word) 1955". Both this letter and another page containg annotations by Teilhard de Chardin to another unnamed text are plasticized. The book measures approximately 6.5" x 9.75" and contains 277 pages.
