Condition/Details: Bound in blindstamped brown cloth with gilt embossing, this antique volume is a scarce reference publication for the area of upstate New York surrounding the city of Rochester. This work has a fold-out area map attached to the title page. The map is well-preserved, with a four-inch tear from one side to the middle. The work also contains numerous illustrated advertisements, providing a rare opportunity to appreciate the value placed on the wares of the period. The volume shows external age/wear, with chipping to spine. Front hinge is weak. Textblock is intact with age-toned pages. The book measures approximately 5.75" x 8.25" and contains 419 pages. This lot is part of a large collection of books and ephemera that we will be selling over the coming months, from the estate of Lewis E. Shuman, long-time collector from Rochester, New York.
