Condition/Details: Bound in green blindstamped cloth with gilt embossing, this antique volume is a Civil War themed volume from the "Gun-Boat Series". The author served in the Union Army during the Civil War in the Mississippi Squadron, and used these experiences as the basis for many of his books. He was a prolific writer of books for boys and authored the Rocky Mountain Series, the Roughing It Series, the Sportsman's Club Series, and The Steel Horse, or the Rambles of a Bicycle; in addition to the series this book is part of. The volume shows external age/wear; the cloth cover is peeling from the spine, the front hinge is cracked and the textblock is intact, and solidly bound with age-toned pages. The book measures approximately 6.75" x 5" and contains 256 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
