Condition/Details: Bound in beige cloth with bright gilt embossing tp spine, this volume is a scarce collection of books illustrating the work of the masters of manuscript illumination, principally the work of the French painter Jean Fouquet (1420 - 1481). These books are illustrated with tipped-in color plates. The first volume is prefaced by Paul Valery with texts by E. A. van Moe; remaining volumes contain texts by Henri Malo, curator of the Musee Conde a Chantilly. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. The book measures approximately 10.5" x 14" and contains unnumbered pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $7.50
