The posters in this group have been carefully stored for the past century and form an impressive, unique collection. Condition/Details: Additional main body text includes: The President's Appeal: " I earnestly appeal to every man, woman and child to pledge themselves on or before the 28th of June to save constantly and to buy as regularly as possible the securities of the Government. The 28th of June ends this special period of enlistment in a great army of production and saving here at home. May there be none unenlisted on that day." Woodrow Wilson (facsimile signature) / The Governor's Proclamation: "I do hereby designate June 28th, between the hours of noon and 10pm, as the time when all patriotic citizens shall appear in person or by proxy as evidenced by a previously signed War Savings pledge card, at the nearest school house or other designated place of registration and register pledges to save and economize to help win the war, and to fulfill such pledges by investing in a specified amount of War Savings Certificates during the remaining months of 1918." / The Secretary of the Treasury: "When our fathers and sons and brothers were called up by our Country to take up arms in her defense you did not hear an individual soldier refuse because his services alone would not win the war. Each man was ready to do his part. The great army thus formed is going forward to face the fire of battle and to risk everything for the safety and security of our homes and our families and for the very existence of our country - these are the men for whom you are asked to save and lend your dollars. A country worth fighting for is a country worth saving for."
