The back cover text states: "Here is the authoritative summary and update, written under the direction of Amiri Baraka of this critically important analysis. Beginning with Lenin himself, it proceeds thourgh the work of the Communist International and the Communist Party of the USA in the 1920s and 1930s, through the Black Literation Movement of the 1960s and 1970s." The title page bears the following inscription: " For Dave/ Be Strong/ Be Wise/ A Baraka/ 94" The volume is in fine condition, and is solidly bound with clean pages.
