Condition/Details: This large folio antique German-language world history atlas is illustrated with ten full-page color maps. Areas covered by the maps include: I. World map with 3 smaller maps at bottom of the page depicting various representations of the world during Antiquity; II. Ancient Greece; III Ancient Greece and Its Colonies; IV. Ancient Asia Minor; V. The Orient; VI. Ancient Italy; VII. Ancient Spain, Italy and North West Africa; VIII. The Roman Empire; IX.Gaul, Britain, Germany and Countries along the Danube; X. Biblical Palestine. This atlas begins with the author's preface. Boards are detached. Age-toned pages show foxing. The colors are vivid and the maps show beautifully. The atlas measures approximately 16" x 20" and contains unnumerated pages. This lot is part of a large collection of books and ephemera that we will be selling over the coming months, from the estate of Lewis E. Shuman, long-time collector from Rochester, New York.
