DESCRIPTION: A cased pair of Victorian wax dolls having glass eyes and curled hair, wearing period costumes. Housed in shadow box lined with period wallpaper and trimmed with flower garlands inside a wood and glass case. PROVENANCE: From the collection of the late Edith DeAngelo, a passionate collector of dolls throughout her life and known as "The Doll Lady" in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. Several of the dolls in her collection were made by or came from the personal collection of Marysia "Mollye" Goldman, founder of the International Doll Company and a personal friend of Mrs. DeAngelo. Mollye and her company produced their own dolls and outfitted dolls from other manufacturers from 1929 through the 1970's. MEASUREMENTS: Dolls approx. 15". Case 21-1/2" square x 6-1/4" deep. CONDITION: Crack to backer board.
