Greek Printing.- Hibbert (Julian, printer) The Book of the Orphic Hymns, one of fewer than 260 copies, Phillipps copy with Middle Hill shelf-mark on front pastedown, endpapers lightly foxed, original boards, uncut and unopened, paper label on spine slightly chipped, rubbed, spine chipped at head, 8vo, printed in uncial letters as a typographical experiment, 1827.***An interesting and scarce work. Hibbert's aim, as he writes in the Preface, was to produce "a Greek type, which, at the same time that it is calculated for ordinary use, approaches nearer to old MSS. than types that have hitherto been used."
