fitted for the use of Boys and Girls, tenth edition, engraved portrait frontispiece by I. Sturt, coloured by a former owner, 49 illustrations, fore-edge of frontispiece and last leaf strengthened, a few minor tears repaired, contemporary sheep, rebacked, new endpapers from a book of the same date, 12mo, E. Dilly, 1757.

***This edition has a new preface signed with the initials J.D. The illustrations are described as "a new sett of cuts", and appear to be metal rather than wood. According to a note by the owner, this copy was purchased at a furniture auction in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1958. Only one earlier copy appears to have sold within recent years..
