London: William Mackenzie, 1879. 2 volumes, folio (360 x 260 mm). 41 plates, printed in colors from woodblocks by Benjamin Fawcett, after A.F. Lydon, illustrations. Original red cloth, blocked in gilt and black, with central device of an angler in gilt to upper covers, g.e. Condition: hinges weak, corner slightly bumped, very minor soiling to covers. Provenance: Graham Watson (bookplate); Lynn Abbott Trust. the classic british victorian fish book: by the turn of the 20th century this beautifully-illustrated work was to be found in almost every British country-house library.
