CURTIS, William (1746-1799). The Botanical Magazine; or, Flower-Garden Displayed. London: For W.Curtis, 1790-1794. 6 volumes various, comprising vols.I-IV, VI, VII,8vo (235 x 140 mm). 300 hand colored copper engraved plates. Red half morocco over marbled boards, gilt lettering and leather labels to spine, fore and lower edges stained yellow. Condition: rubbing to extremities, occasional light browning. Provenance: Lynn Abbott Trust. Six early volumes from what went on to become the longest running botanical periodical of all time. Cf. Hunt 689; cf.
