Metz: de l'Imprimerie de Claude Lamort, 1789. 2 volumes. Together 10 volumes, 4to (250 x 190 mm). 2pp. publisher's advertisements at the back of vol.IV, 34 engraved plates (1 folding). Uniformly bound in cat's-paw sheep, covers ruled in blind, spines in six compartments with raised bands, red morocco lettering-piece in the second compartment, gilt lettering in the brown-stained fourth compartment, the others with repeat decoration in gilt made up from various small tools, blue/green speckled edges. Condition: small chips to head of spines of vols. I, II and IV, occasional small splits to joints, slight scuffing to extremities. Provenance: Lieutenant-General Rodolphe, comte de Castella (1705-1793, copy of earlier armorial bookplate). a fine set of the first ediition in french of miller's famous dictionary, complete with the supplement by the translator.
