London & New York: Frederick Warne & Co., 1896-1897. 4 volumes, 8vo (237 x 153 mm). Half-titles. 316 chromolithographic plates after B. Hérincq. Contemporary light brown half calf over cloth-covered boards, spines in six compartments with raised bands, brown morocco title label lettered in gilt in the second, volume numbers in gilt in the fourth, the others tooled in blind, marbled endpapers. Condition: occasional very light scuffing or discoloration to bindings. Provenance: Lynn Abbott Trust. a beautiful work, with plates after the french botanical artist Hérincq. This work is an adapted translation of Désiré Bois's Atlas des plantes de jardins et d' appartements éxotiques et européennes. (Paris: 1891-1896). Cf.
