An 18ct. continental gold & enamel FIFA medal presented to Stanley Matthews after the Football Association's 75th anniversary match at Highbury October 26th 1938, the obverse inscribed ANGLETTERE X CONTINENT, FIFA, 26 OCTOBRE 1938, the reverse struck with the F.A. three lions arms, contained in the original makers box by F.Jacques & Freres, Bruxelles; sold with a certificate of authenticity and a catalogue from Louis Taylor Auctions both signed by Sir Stanley's daughter Mrs Jean Gough (3) Provenance: Purchased at the Stanley Matthews Auction (consigned by his daughter Mrs Jean Gough) at Louis Taylor Auctions, Stoke-on-Trent, October 17th 2000 as lot 66.
