Sir Matt Busby's seat from the director's box at Old Trafford, foam-filled red vinyl over a wooden base, the underside with name label, 41 by 44.5cm., 16 by 17 1/2in.; sold with a signed letter of provenance from the current vendor (2) Sir Matt Busby's seat from the Directors Box at Old Trafford was removed during the refurbishment of the South Stand that commenced after the last home fixture of the 1992-93 season. The contractor Pel Stadium Seating Ltd used Sir Matt's seat as a template to manufacture the new replacements which would match the old.
