An historic group of invoices and receipts addressed to The [Sheffield] Wednesday Football Club dated 1875 and 1876, examples including: 'To Secretary of the Wednesday Football Club' from J J Bailey, To Rent of field from October 1st 1875 to March 1st 1876, £7-17-0, and other items; another being a receipt for 4 shillings from the Sheffield Central Police Office dated 4th December 1875 for the supply of two Police Constables at the Bramall Lane Grounds, and a similar receipt dated 18th March 1876, other documents for local match advertisements including '1,500 window bills', press advertisement bills including a Sheffield Daily Telegraph three advert campaign for the Wednesday v Nottingham Forest game in 1876 costing 16s 6d, a bill for £1-4-0 for the purchase of two footballs, others for supplies of clocks, cups, biscuits, decanters, dressing cases and lampshades
