October 21, 1892, Official Columbus Day Silk Badge, Choice Very Fine.
5.25" x 2", red, blue, and yellow printing on white silk. This colorful ribbon was created for the National Public School Celebration on Columbus Day, October 21st, 1892. This may have had something to do with the Columbian Exposition held in Chicago, Illinois beginning in 1892. From the Mastai Collection, and so stamped in the lower right corner, along with his inked inventory number.
