Original Manuscript
(7.5x9") An original table of coordinates written in pencil by Clyde Tombaugh, Discoverer of the planet Pluto. He has labeled the table "Pluto Ephemeris / approximate ignoring aberration). It covers the dates November 1939 to June 1, 1940 and includes notations for "R.A.", "Dec" and "Heliocentric". He has also notated at the bottom: "Please return to Clyde W. Tombaugh". Unique. ALSO included are two black and white photographs discovered in Tombaugh's 1953 edition of "Epherera" They are extremely rare photos of the "Ashen Light of Venus". This is an extremely rare phenomena that has long been considered "much too elusive to photograph". It causes Venus to appear to be crescent shape similar to that of a crescent moon. Both the document and the photographs are professionally matted and framed (18x22"). An important piece of memorabilia for any astronomer. ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
