1892 General Russell Balloon Fabric
(2.5x3.5") recovered from the crash in Boston Harbor that killed pilot G. A. Rogers and assistant P. Fenton. The fabric is mounted on a notarized Valhalla Aerostation certificate of authenticity and matted (20x13.5") alongside a copy of the Boston Daily Glove newspaper that featured an account of the tragedy. This is one of only eight pieces of fabric cut from a larger piece that was saved at the time of the tragedy. Extremely rare as little 19th century fabric has survived.
