Margaret Bourke White photograph of the U.S.S. Akron with frame made from the duralumin used in construction of the airship, silver gelatin. Signed lower right "Bourke-White". An iconic of American photography documenting the maiden launch of this airship from the air dock in Akron. Framed in Aluminum with attached plaque "Winner - Robert Hauck, Third Avenue, Goodyear Deaters Zeppelin Race, July-August 1931". This frame is made of duralumin used in girder construction of the U.S. Airship "Akron", built by the Goodyear Zeppelin Corporation. Light ruffling right edge. Three small very light stains mid-left edge. 17 1/4" x 22 3/4". Frame 20 1/4" x 26". EST. $2000. - $3000.
