Ida Barbour Carmichael (Cincinnati, Ohio, 1881-1981) 20" x 24" oil on canvas titled "Fjords and Skerrigs Worway". Signed lower right "Ida Carmichael". This painting is from the Ida Carmichael Estate, accompanied with a letter from family. Ida Carmichael graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston in 1904. She received a masters degree from the University of Cincinnati and Doctor of Education from the University of Oregon in 1945. She studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy with Reginald Grooms, Clement Barnhorn and Herman Wessel. Her work has been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Closson's Galleries, Andrews Galleries, etc. She taught at the Walnut Hills High School from 1930 to 1951. Dr. Carmichael was a member of the Women's Art Club of Cincinnati, the National Society of Modern Art and the Ceramic Guild of Cincinnati, as well as various other local and national associations. Fine condition. EST. $200. - $500.
