Millennium Gorilla Astronaut Toy
(11x23x11") This is one of the neatest space toys that we have encountered. All of us here at Aurora hope that none of our collectors appreciate it as we enjoy playing with it at every opportunity. The toy consists of a monkey in a gray "Mercury" spacesuit and helmet. The spacesuit has a pocket, a red name patch, a "Millennium Gorilla/NASA Meatball" patch and a US flag shoulder patch. He is carrying a backpack. The neatest part of his "persona" are the voice prompts on his gloves. His right glove elicits a series of responses including 1) "Get me out of this monkey suit", 2) "I miss the jungle", 3) "Houston, more bananas, please", 4) "Roddy, Doddy, I read you base" and one additional. Pressing his left glove elicits the response: "3, 2, 1, Blast Off!, yah hoo, he haw, … with strong "launch" vibrations. All in all, a toy that captures the essence of early space flight; made by the Kids of America Corp for ages 3 and up. We stipulate that all of us at Aurora fall into the "up" category (but who's counting). The buyer must promise to provide this astronaut with a caring home as his personality definitely deserves one.
