With assay master's initials in Cyrillic ''IK'' over date ''1777'', with maker's initials ''IK'', possibly Ivan Karpov, Moscow, the rectangular hinged lid carved with a crowned double-headed eagle holding a quiver of arrows, above a cushion molded rectangular case, with a diaper pattern, the underside decorated with a double garland framing a military trophy and a crowned ''E'', 1.5'' H x 2.75'' W x 2'' D, est:$900/1200. Provenance: Property from a Private Collection, Palmdale, CA
Condition reportGeneral light marks, scratches, rubbing and tarnishing to surface. Top with repaired crack in the upper right corner of mother of pearl carving. Decoration rather stylized. Some minor dings and imperfections to silver framing of top. Some slight dirt accumulation overall. Would benefit from careful light cleaning. This and all lots are sold AS IS.
