The Oxford Magazine, May 1770, under the headline, "A Full and Particular Account of the Late Tragical Scene Which Happened at Boston in New-England," follows a detailed, 4-1/2 page reporting of the Boston Massacre. After recounting the taunts that led to the massacre and the shot-by-shot report of the massacre, the article provides a brief summary of the citizens who were killed including "A Mulatto man named Crispus Attucks ... also killed instantly; two balls entering his breast ..." The report continues with the formation of the citizens Committee which includes John Hancock, Samuel Adams and others who protest to the Lt. Governor demanding the removal of all British troops from Boston. This is an exceptional period report of the most infamous massacre in American history. 40pp, disbound, slightly loose at spine, interior fine.
