A polemic best explained by its dedication: "Dedicated to the Red Shirts of 1876 in every walk of life, to whose unceasing vigilance, tireless energy and exalted patriotism, was due the overthrow of Republican misrule and the ousting of the Carpetbagger from South Carolina." Although not Klan related, the point of view is that of the KKK during it's resurgence in the 1920's. Previous owner's name on front free-end paper. VG.
